the used materials are canvas/ pillow like objects, covered with human hair. the installation reflects on painting and the materiality of it (not only the brush, also the paint is a mixture of organic ingredients). next to that this work expresses the idea of bodily material outside the body. The hair becomes as in painting a patterning matter, in this case patterns of ’waste’ and ‘rejects’. the hair is anonymous, thrown away multi-racial hair from barbershops and wigmakers. The installation is also referring to illness and madness.
